Last Road Trip for this Week.
The server is finally working, thus I figure it'll be fine to take you guys on another road trip before i post again (which would be at a very distant, distant future). CVS is coming, Lord pls help me. But as the good book said, the Bible, God only help those who help themselves. And I saw that coming with the results i had for Sum2.
It was bad... it was pathetic... it was what i deserved. But i truly did study, i truly did work hard for it... its just that what i studied did not come out. And the questions were just too deep for my understanding. And somehow my mind did not work on that day. I did not know what was congenital, i did not know what was manifestation. I was a failure that day. *head low, in deep thoughts* A truly fucked up life.
But then, how fucked up life is, i won't let that drag me down. No way. I've lived 19 years of fucked up life, i'm used to it. Ain't gonna start givin' up now, no? Life is life...tis what the good Man up there gave all of us. We bitch 'bout it, we cuss 'bout it, but we lived it, no? Y'all will never see the day I wilt get dragged down by the five face bitch we all call Life. And everyone say, AMEN!
So, going on to things that really cheered me up. The weekends coming, and there's time for joy and games.
Which now reminds me of a game I played over the weekend. There is just one conversation that striked me funny. You guys must have read the quotes I always leave at the end of my posts. These are quotes from games, profound yet there are some funny ones that I have not quote. This is one of the really funny one.
Move character to talk to a little boy standing by his mother. Press X.
Boy: Have you seen my father's resurrection? My mother said that she would leave him if he doesn't get one.
Press X again.
Boy: She keeps on talking about Biagra.
When I read that, I was like..."What the hell???" Then I was rolling on the floor laughing at how stupid it sounded, yet how innocently the boy talk about it. My brother was with me and he sees me rolling among the pillow like a big fat cow rolling in mud and asked me what went wrong? So i showed him again and he went like, "Huh?" I explained it to him, he laughed a few times and went off, grumbling that his sister had finally lost it.
The message i'm trying to get over to you guys is the fact that games are not just something dumb that many ppl presume it is. There are many types of games, and i agree that some games are dumb, but there are some that is really profound and really touches hearts.
Dumb games are games that many of the dumb guys out there like to play, cos both the games and the players are dumb. Dumb games are games like wrestling (which most of you guys got to agree is dumb!)
Everytime i see my brother play a wrestling game, i get really pissed off, for the waste of money and the waste of MY TIME. What is so fun in hitting on buttons, when you can be actually hitting real life ppl. I pity my controller. But to feel your knuckles against soft flesh and hearing bones break, it is so much better! And sports games, that the XBox is so famous for. Dumb, dumb, dumb!
The not so dumb games actually test your calculative skills and the control of your fingers. Yet you know it, the racing games, where perfect control of the buttons/analog stick is really needed. And how perfectly you have to press the buttons(the harder you press, the faster the car goes)
And then, there is the game that is played like reading a book. The RPG genre, the role playing genre. Many ppl find this genre boring, and the ppl who find this genre boring are either dumb(most guys are) and extremely boring ppl. No offense, but that is the gospel truth. Some ppl may argue that reading the book is better then. But then games can't be compared to books.
RPG is where you control a character and you lead the character around on an adventure. The story revolves around this character, and the story...boy, they can be pretty complex sometimes. The difference between RPG and reading is that you control the character. You make the character do things you want them to do. Some RPGs make you choose between two girls(if you are a guy), so make you choose whether to run across the floor naked, or crawl along the floor naked(Metal Gear Solid).
You get in touch with the main character more. You feel what the character is feeling. You are able to connect yourself with the character. You ARE in touch with the character.
And the RPG genre is not like so dumb game where you just hit ppl or just attack. It takes you on journeys... it is like reading a book. It can be equally profound when compared to a book. Look at all the quotes I quoted. They are from games, and they are as profound as quotes of famous ppl.
A good RPG touches hearts. My friend once cried when one of the main characters in a game died. It was a really touching scene. Many RPGs today put much effort in developing the battle system, the graphics and all. But there are certain good publishers and developers that concentrate on the stories, and this is what separates good RPGs from bad.
So don't go round saying that games are bad. Not all games are bad. Dumb games, played by dumb guys, they are the bad games.
Oh, got to go soon. Hungry, tired, moody... guess its time for me to go too. Tmr will be going to a workshop and then go shopping for Dad's Father Day present. And leaving you guys again with another profound game quote:
Insanity leads to chaos
Then to solitude
The fruitless effort of adding
Meaning to what is meaningless
A lone, crimson tear
Falls to the sea...
The echo of the remaining star
Cries out in the infinite vacuum
The least I can do
Is send my distant prayers
Over the wind of time,
Setting sale on dreams...
