Dad in Brisbane
Remember the DILEMMA I was in a few weeks ago? Well, it had come and gone.
Yup, my dad had come and went off to Sydney. I did not tell him that Richard and I were staying in the same room, and when he found out a few minutes before he got ready for bed, he was like "*shrug* Okay, then I will take the couch."
I'm not sure how he exactly felt about this arrangement, but if he ain't complaining, I ain't complaining.
So my dad stayed in Brisbane for 4 days. I was at the hospital from 8-5 almost everyday, so I have no idea what he did during those 4 days. He told me about waking up really late in the morning, making himself a late brunch, and then onto the computer to check up on his stock markets. And I think to myself, you can do exactly that back home in Malaysia!!!
So my dad is here, and I thought, let's dig up some interesting places that he would like to go. First off, Treasury Casino, where he went and came back a winner. Then... erm... erm... to my dismay, there is nowhere else interesting to go in Brisbane. Well, there is the Gold Coast, but my dad going to Gold Coast alone? Hell, not happening.
We took him around the city, brought him to Chermside Mall for some grocery shopping, we went out for dinner together, basically we did what we could have done back home in Malaysia.
So has he achieved what he wanted in Brisbane? Come to think of it, I have still no freaking idea why he came to Brisbane in the first place. I have not been away for that long, it is only 5 months. I am not missing home yet!
But one plus point of him coming: I finally got my new hard disk drive, brand new DVDs to burn my manga into and a whole bloody carton of Maggi Mee. What in the world was my mother thinking when she packed those Maggi Mee in. It is not like we can't get Maggi Mee here, but I have to admit, Malaysia's Maggi Mee is still the best. When it comes to food, Malaysia wins flat down.
Okay, all said and done, my advice to those who want to come to Brisbane for their holiday... DON'T COME!!!
Thank you Mario,
