Dilemma
As you know, I am currently roommates with Richard Lee here in Brisbane. We have the master bedroom to ourselves, we are pretty settled down already.
And now the dilemma: My dad is coming next weekend to visit me in Brisbane.
Don't ask me how. He planned it without even consulting me.
Don't ask me when. On the first day of my medicine rotation. Brilliant dad.
Don't ask me where. He is staying in the apartment with me.
Don't ask me why. I have no fucking shit idea.
Don't ask me what. That is for you guys to decide.
First 'what': What is he going to think?
Daniel (pretending to be my dad who drops by in the middle of the night to surprise us):
*opens Daniel's door* Oops, sorry.
*opens Raj's door* Oops, sorry.
*looks at the three remaining doors in the house. Open first door* Toilet.
*looks at the next door (bathroom door)* Please be bedroom, please be bedroom...
To all the guys and future fathers out there, what would you do with you find out that your daughter is sleeping in a room with a guy. You don't know if they are having sex, they are just co-inhabiting.
A) You reach for your shotgun.
B) You are sure there is an explanation.
C) You pass the guy a few condoms.
D) You prepare the wedding.
Second 'what': What should I do?
I am sleeping in a room with my boyfriend, should I keep it a secret from my father?
Sister: Why keep secret? Sleeping in room only mah, not like sleeping together also.
Me: True... but erm... what would daddy think?
Sister: It's not like he sees u having sex also.
HEAVEN FORBID!!!! If that happens, I am jumping out of the window.
*Yes, I am not sleeping with Richard. We have a bunk bed, which is super cool. I get to sleep on top.
For all the girls and future brides, would you tell your dad if:-
- You have a boyfriend?
- You are co-inhabiting with your boyfriend?
- You are having sex with your boyfriend?
- You are going to marry your boyfriend?
So what should I do?
A) Switch rooms with my either housemates.
B) Tell him before he arrives.
C) Let him find out himself. (Which he will)
So there, I have 2 weeks to decide: next week which is my exam week and next next week where I am heading off to Sydney. So help me out here, friends.
Drink punch...?
Eat cake...?
Sounds...
complicated.
I'm not sure I can muster the strength to do it.
